Summary:
I’ve only heard good things about Deborah Lippmann, but seeing as I’m naturally dubious, I didn’t really want to believe what others were saying about the nail polishes, such as how they last so well and how they apply easily and dry quickly. So when I saw this nail polish on offer for £9.80 in House of Fraser I couldn’t resist finding out if the hype was true.
I liked the colours that were available, but I chose Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which is a dark coral color. It’s quite fresh and funky, and looks very bold in the pot, so I was surprised when I started applying the nail polish that it came out semi-translucent. I thought that considering the nail polish was quite expensive it would come out quite thick and vivid, but it didn’t. I did find, however, that it dried exceptionally quickly which I wasn’t expecting from such a runny liquid. I applied the second coat but again noticed that the cover wasn’t enough to completely cover my nails evenly. I wasn’t impressed with this as usually 2 coats is sufficient, but I waited a couple more minutes for the second coat to dry and then applied a third and my nails looked perfect.
After 2 days there wasn’t any chipping which I was amazed by, nor was there any chipping after a full week. Only on day 9 did the first chip appear, but it was small. This nail polish is very impressive because that kind of staying power is virtually unheard of in my nail polish history. So even though the nail polish is a little on the expensive side (£14 when not on offer), I personally think it’s worth it – not just for the staying power, but also because the coats dried exceptionally quickly. I just don’t like having to apply 3 coats.
