Today marks a big day for my fitness as I'm about to embark on the 30 Day Shred for the first time. I was very active in high school by playing volleyball and also attending a dance class twice a week, but since then I have become so unfit and out of shape which really isn't good. Now I'm not considering myself as being on the 'big' side or anything, but as someone with curves and big boobs it's sometimes hard to keep yourself looking in proportion. Especially when you have a slow metabolism and a massive craving for chocolate! I'll admit that I've been very naughty over the Christmas period and also during my birthday this year, with me going from a comfortable size 10 to somewhere around a size 12-14 which I really wanted to change.
I've recently completed 30 X.Fit and Flabelos sessions at my local tanning salon, which are basically those vibrating plate machines that promise to give you an hour's workout in a 10 minute wobble session. This was my second block of sessions as I gave it a go last summer and saw great results, and once again I was happy with what I saw. After 30 sessions I have managed to get myself back down to a size 10-12 (depending on actual store sizing) and my stomach definitely looks more toned and a lot less jiggly which is always fab. I'd definitely recommend these machines if you're looking for a quick way to lose some weight and tone up, although it hasn't made any difference to my actual fitness levels which is why I'm now going to do the 30 Day Shred. You never know, I might even make it to the gym someday (shock horror).
So here I am in my workout gear and armed with a massive bottle of water, ready to get my arse kicked by Jillian Michaels in the comfort of my own room. I've heard so many stories about how difficult the shred can be to begin with but I've promised myself that I'll get through it and come out feeling a lot happier and healthier. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure I'll be needing all the motivation I can get!
Day 1, here we go..
