Date Night On the Water ...and A Harbor Cruise

By Tamera Beardsley @tamerabeardsley

I absolutely love being on the water.I ocean kayak almost every weekand I am always looking for  new ways to get out on the water.
For our Friday Night Date Nightone of my favorite ways is with a Sunset Wine Cruise out of Dana Point here in Southern California.
A ticket of $49 each gives you 90 minutescruising the harbor with wine tasting.I prefer just buying a glass of winebecause I want to soak up every second taking in the harbor views!

My hair style of choice for harbor cruising at sunsetis always a turban. It keeps my hair pretty much in placewhile on the waterand affords a finished look without battling wind blown hair.

I wanted a fun romantic look for the cruiseso I chose to wear my new white  wrap long vestthat I got from Chateau Bel Age in San Diego
I wore it over a straight navy maxi and a voluminous white skirt.I paired them all with a Breton stripefor a little nautical nod.
My tapestry cross body formJuxtoposition in Newport Beach bag kept my hands freeand a striped flat kept me steady  on my feet the entire harbor cruise.

My favorite part of the cruise is alwaysthe open ocean part. There is always such a feeling of freedom on the open water!

If you are in the area and interested in the  Dana Point Wine Cruiseyou can find all of the information HERE.

Our newest way to get on the water isrenting a Duffy Boatto cruise Newport Beach HarborDuffy's are sweet little electric boats that fit up to 10 people.
We have been talking about renting one of these boats for yearsand finally took the plunge. It was so funI am already planning our next time out!

The boats are clean and well keptwith a staff that makes renting a breeze! We packed simply for this cruise butI can't wait to host a little party the next time outand bring all of my own decor!

I brought a bottle of Veuve in it's cooling caseto make sure it stayed cold. But I realized you don't even have to do thatbecause the charming Duffy staff can bring you ice before you venture off!And how cute are these inflatable ice buckets they have!

Besides champagne and a simple cheese and fruit platterI brought my little Bose speakerso we had our own music.
But lest you don't have onethese boats come with a plugso you can play your own music on their speakers,

A good bottle of ice cold champagnegreat musiccruising the harbor in a sweet little Duffymade for a pretty great day!

And I once again donned my turbanfor easy style!

Enjoyed my handsome 'boat captain'!

The Duffy rental we had was $199 for the two hours on a holiday weekend.I do believe they run specialsso you might be able to get one for less depending on your needs.
