Today I had the opportunity to interview Miss Rockwell of Thrifty and Shameless. I’ve always had a huge admiration for those with the gift of thrift. So needless to say I was thrilled when I stumbled upon her blog. She has mastered the art of stretching your wallet while staying on trend. GRW: Why did you start Thrifty and Shameless?
I originally began my blog to showcase all of the great deals I found while couponing. That turned into something more as I began to share the great pieces that I found while thrifting. I wanted to let all of my fellow fashionistas know that you don’t have to break the bank to look fly.
GRW: How long have you been blogging?
Currently, I have been blogging for a little over 2 years.
GRW: What was your 1st ever blog post?
My first ever blog post was at the end of December 13, 2010. It’s funny to go back and see just how far I’ve come.
GRW: You’re a Talent TV judge for a day, which TV show would you guest star on?
Definitely Project Runway. I live for that show.
GRW: What is your favorite tip for thrift shopping?
Visit the thrift stores often, in the middle of the week, as early in the day as possible-preferably when the stores first open. I find most of my great pieces on Wednesdays and it’s peaceful because I avoid all of the weekend traffic.
GRW: French manicure or nail art?
DIY manicure
GRW: Which celebrity is your fashion muse?
Most times Rihanna-she wears everything well.
GRW: Roller coasters or roller skates?
Definitely roller coasters. I love the thrill and the huge adrenaline rush!
GRW: In your family and among friends, what are you known for?
I’m known most for pinching pennies and finding the best deals around. Also known for being able to put together a smoking hot outfit for the least amount of money!
