Coming Together

By Joysautismblog @joysautismblog

After lots of phone calls yesterday the boy’s school stuff is finally coming together. I talked to busing and a special needs coordinator today for Adrian and hopefully I will be meeting his teacher sometime soon. I did find out her name and the coordinator said she was going to hand deliver his IEP to the teacher and that either her or the teacher would be calling me to set up a meeting.Everyone was so nice and knew who I was when I called and it went really smoothly.

I’m hoping to hear back from them today, that may be asking too much but I have my fingers crossed!

I’m a wreck about sending Lincoln to preschool. He’s still a baby in my eyes. He’s just my little guy. It’s really hard. I went to his school this morning and had the office take a copy of his IEP. The lady I’ve been talking to about Lincoln is in meetings all day today so I’m not sure when I’ll hear back from them.

We’ve come to a big decision with our girls. I’ve wanted to homeschool for a long time. I’ve considered it each year and hadn’t done it yet. I’ve read a lot about it and as a family we finally came to the decision to homeschool our girls this year. I have been working hard on getting together lesson plans and materials and making a school room out of our play room. It is finally coming together too! Our printer broke in the move so we had to order a new one and that came in today so I’m looking forward to printing out some materials and having fun with it. I considered homeschooling the boys but, especially Adrian, needs a lot of help and I just didn’t feel capable at this time to take care of all of that, so it’s just the girls this year and we’ll take it from there.

If you entered for the book I’m giving away-Flightless Goose in a post below-I am going to draw a random name on Saturday. There aren’t many entries so get your name in there if you’d like to try and win the book.
