Coloressence Llipstick in Ruby Rust Review, Swatches and FOTD

By Natasha Bhatt
Hi girls,
I am back after a long time with a review more so a lipstick review. Felt kind of weird as it had been a while I reviewed a lipstick...Lol... Anyhow here I am with a lipstick from Coloressence called Ruby Rust which is one of my favorite shades from the collection. One of my friend Venissa saw it in a picture of myself  I uploaded on facebook and asked me to review it a while back. So finally here I am with the review.. Lets find out more about this lipstick...

Ingredients: Contains Coriander and Basil Extract. Full list is not mentioned. 100% vegetarian.

Price: Rs. 150/- for 4g

Availability: Available on all major sites online and in stores.

The lipstick comes in a matte black and silver  packaging with a clear bottom which shows the lipstick shade and hence it is easy to locate the shade in your stash. Recently though I have noticed that they have stopped the trend which is weird. It comes in a completely matte black tube. The cap click locks and the packaging is very sturdy and travel friendly. The brand name is engraved in silver on the cap itself and the shade name at the bottom. Overall decent packaging and not bad at all in my opinion.

The lipstick is a brownie rust color more inclined towards rust. It does have a sligthest hint of orange and peach and hence it looks awesome on the lips. I have fair to medium skin tone and this lipstick instantly brightens my teeth and my face. Once the color fades on the lips it looks more peachy rust which is still beautiful. The lipstick is matte and does not contain any shimmer. It contains SPF 15 which is a must with lip products now a days. One swipe is enough to show up on the lips and looks pretty but I prefer going more than once to get a full saturated finish. Hence it is very opaque. It is 100% vegetarian as claimed which is good which means they do not test on animals. It has a pleasant smell which is not overpowering yet bearable. The staying power is decent as it is matte in finish and it also does not contain shimmer. It goes on smooth and settles into a matte finish. With lipsticks like these it is mandatory to exfoliate and moisturize the lips before hand. The lasting power is good and lasts upto 4 hours post which it does leave a tint on the lips but does not stain the lips. If you top it up with a gloss it will look even more pretty. This shade will suit most skin tones.

The Good:

Easily available even online.
Decently pigmented.
Nice packaging.
Shade will suit most skin tones.
Contains SPF 15.
100% vegetarian - does not test on animals.
Staying power is decent.
Travel friendly and sturdy packaging.

The not so Good:

Complete ingredient list not mentioned.
Shade may or may not be your personal favorite.
This lipstick is not a friend of those with dry or chapped lips.

Rating :4.5/5

This lipstick is a great budget buy for 150 bucks more so because it is vegetarian and cruelty free. This shade will suit most skin tones unless you do not like the shade. I love it and suits me a lot and hence is a personal favorite. I would recommend everyone to try it.
