Sorry I've been so sporadic in my beauty updates guys! Work has been a major downer to say the least, but boy was I a happy bird when I got this lovely invite for CLIO's latest launch. I've been eyeing CLIO for a long time: this korean brand is one those prized discoveries for its pocket friendly prices but high-performing quality.
Keeping with the theme, some finger-licking authentic Korean cuisines that had us going for seconds...and maybe thirds too...
Here with celebrity Larry Yeo on the best way to wear that bold lip:
Cushion ladies, the CLIO Kill Cover Founwear Cushion ($59.90) is one to watch. My current-go to BB-cushion, it gives a long-lasting matte, natural finish. Available in two shades (03 Linen & 04 Ginger); Ginger is closest to my medium-fair complexion, although it's still abit too fair. This limited edition set comes with a 15ml cushion compact & 20ml refill bottle.
As you can see in my before and after shots, the Founwear Cushion a peachy undertone that adds some glow and healthy color to my complexion, and pretty much melds into skin to minimize the appearance of pores and redness. Note that this was about 1-2 layers in application, and I literally had no need for any concealers as the coverage was that good!
How can anyone HONESTLY have enough of lippies! And with CLIO, you have now 6 new exciting shades to look forward to! Clio Virgin Kiss Tension Lip ($22.90) comes in a sleek matte black bullet packaging, and I am pleased to have 4 of their best-selling shades to review here.
Here's how it looks like when swatched on my hand; the color payoff is really brilliantly pigmented in one application. The finish I would say veers to a more creamy, semi-matte one, yet feels really moisturizing on lips.
The lasting power...is mindblowing, and I have the funniest story to testify for it. I was sporting Pinkly during one of my date nights with Ben, and decided to plant a peck on his cheek...only to realize the staying power was so strong it stayed even after rigorous rubbing with wet napkins! The boyfriend ended up with a small pink mark for the rest of the night while I had a major laugh over his misfortune :P
The shade in question, Pinkly
The CLIO Tinted Tattoo Kill Brow ($23.90) was actually my pick of the collection, to be honest. Firstly, the novelty of using a felt marker to define your eyebrows was exciting. But when you try it, its pretty radical...the felt pen glides easily (albeit faintly) for linework, while the mascara fills up thinning areas well.Here's the swatch of both shades on my skin;
the tones may look different but I assure you they do complement each other when applied.
And a close-up of how it looks like when applied. If you have naturally dark, bushy ones like mine then Natural Brown No. 2 is perfect. I actually skip the brow mascara end when I'm pinched for time as the felt tip already gives a somewhat air-brushed finish. However, for full gorgeous groomed brows, go the whole 9 yards with the former as it also helps to sweep and hold the strands in place.
As expected, I was blown away by the high-performing quality of CLIO; you really get camera-ready looks at a fraction of luxury brand prices. I sincerely loved everything from the range, and can't wait to see what they have in store! With CLIO's high impact makeup and affordability, you only need to 'Do It Right Just Once'!
All items reviewed are currently retailing in at selected Watsons stores. Thank you CLIO Singapore & the PR People team for the invite!
