Ciaté Mini Mani Month Revealed: 04 December & Swatches from Day 3!!!

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig
Another day, another Mini Paint Pot from Ciaté! So what does December 4th have in store? Keep reading to find out!

Woo hoo! Caviar Pearls!!! These pearls are called "Prom Queen" and consist of not just pearls, but hexagonal glitter as well! The pearls are are royal blue, magenta and silver, while the glitter bits are just magenta and silver. Very pretty, though I am not terribly excited about Caviar manis. I do kind of like the look and when I've tried it in the past, they have lasted a decent length of time, but it's kind of a pain to do. And beads go everywhere. But it IS pretty and it's a nice way to try out the real Caviar manicure, not my homemade version! :)

Now for "Halo" from December 3rd! First, I have to say, this polish really stinks. I recognize the smell, but I can't place it. Just know that it stinks. Melting plastic is the best comparison I can think of. It fades after the polish dries, but I wouldn't recommend using this color in a closed space! :) It is really pretty though, so it's worth a little stink. It is also kind of thick, but it wasn't problematic, nor did it take decades to dry so I don't mind the consistency.
First I tried it over the red, "Dangerous Affair", from the day before. "Halo" makes a really interesting and beautiful top coat. The red shifted to an almost purple with a lot of light reflecting shimmer particles and changed color as it moved in the light. It would be great for customizing a shade or just accenting a nail.

Then I took all the beautiful red off my nails and tried "Halo" on its own. Still pretty and great if you like having a natural looking nail, but I'm so used to vivid colored lacquers that I feel almost naked with only "Halo" on my nails! It's a very subtle, sheer white. It definitely has lots of shimmery bits to it and it flashes blue and pink depending on the light, which makes for some purple in the middle. It's very pretty. I used 3 coats which wasn't really necessary, but I thought I would see if a third coat made much difference. It didn't. Just made it a bit more frosty. It's a really pretty sheer shade that actually reminds me a bit of fresh snow. I would probably use it as a top coat, but it makes a great natural nail with some flair too!!!

So there's my life in lacquer for December 4th!!! Stay tuned for polish number 5 tomorrow and I hope you're having a wonderful day!!!
