When I caught a glimpse of a monochromic Chanel bottle on my Instagram feed I was instantly all over it. You know my love for Chanel runs deep which is why I had to track down what turns out to be a very, very limited edition collection. Not the news you may have wanted to hear .. so why am I telling you about it? Well, because it's too gorgeous and too fabulous not to have on my blog, plus you may still have a pop up near you and Chanel addicts like myself will want a piece!

So, what's it all about?
CHANEL N05 is celebrating 100 years!! To mark this event, CHANEL created an ephemeral collection: the FACTORY 5 COLLECTION showcasing this black and white monochromatic theme, being available online and around several pop-ups all over the world. There is 17 limited edition products; some that have never been made before and some that have, just not in this packaging.Now I know Chanel No5 has always been associated as an 'older persons' fragrance but with the introduction of the No5 L'Eau which aimed to attract a younger clientele, gave a fresher take on a real classic scent. For me, I feel this gives people the option to wear No5 in a very modern way and now this whole line really does enforce this.

MY PURCHASES ...
I excitedly found two popups local to me at Galleries Lafayette at CAP3000 in Nice and the Monaco boutique. The Chanel team at Galleries Lafayette were superb and just so lovely and had great talks with them about it all. I was even filmed shopping the collection by Chanel for the campaign (very unexpectedly?!). I was however very reserved in my purchases and I couldn't get my hands on the water bottle but the second item on my list, was the tin of bath tablets. Mainly because I knew the tin in which they are housed would be the most amazing keepsake and an item I could easily reuse.Chanel Factory 5 limited edition

This is actually great value for money because you do indeed get 10 x 17g No5 bath tablets (€65) and when I say the scent of these is incredible… I mean trust me! These will definitely be saved for special occasions, but you could even half the tablets because the scent is so intense. The quality of this item is just beautiful being very Chanel, super chic and stylish and a keepsake that I will treasure for a long time.

The other item I also had on my want list was the Purse Spray (7ml €45). Mainly because this is the No5 L'Eau version which I do myself wear so I can just feel even more bougie having the scent on the go with me. The handbag sprays are actually already a permanent line, just not in this limited-edition packaging which is why the good news is that you can purchase refills for this easily (3 x 7ml €65). I was also given the cutest miniature bottle of No5 as a free gift which again I will treasure.

I think I was very reserved when it came to shopping the collection but for me I wanted to invest in products that I would see as collectable and could have them stand the test of time. Should Chanel have gifted me every product then of course I wouldn't have complained! lol
I think Chanel has celebrated the 100th anniversary of No5 in a true Chanel way; with excitement, elegance, fashion and real style. This gives No5 a whole new lease of life and I'm sure, a whole new type of customer.
