Caudalie Teint Divin Review

By Reinesoignee @RSoignee

From time to time we all feel like we need a change. That’s what I thought paying for Caudalie Teint Divin, my very first tinted moisturizer. I’m very pale and I burn at the sun in a blink of an eye, never ever tan and never-never ever have any difficulty picking up foundations. I always go for the lightest color in the range and there was not a single time when I was wrong about it but I noticed Caudalie Teint Divin among other tempting Caudalie things and I knew I must try it!

I have mixed feelings about this tinted moisturizer. It’s lovely in general except a little ‘but’ and in my case a simple ‘but’ is usually a deal breaker with make-up and skin care. I mean, there are so many wonderful products out there, it’s crazy to stick to something you are not fond of!
Positive things first. Caudalie Teint Divin is very light, almost invisible on my skin and I love that feeling so much! It’s perfect for a day or night out when you don’t want to pile up foundation and powder but want your skin to look beautified. Just apply Caudalie tinted moisturizer and you are ready to go, looking bronzed up a little but with your natural blush shinning through. And here we are, the first ‘but’, Caudalie has only two shades – light to medium skin and medium to dark. Naturally I went for light to medium and it’s still too dark for me. I made it work though; if I mix up same amounts of tinted moisturizer and my regular moisturizer, the color I end up with is close to what I wanted to get in the first place. One more thing with the application, you have to really work it near the hairline, ears and neck blending vigorously to avoid a visible tan line. At the center of the face application is just lovely and smooth, near the edges – not so much.
Caudalie Teint Divin doesn’t mask any blemishes, just slightly softens the redness making it less obvious but I really don’t mind it, that’s what concealers are for. What I do mind is the way it reacts to any liquid. In case your face is supposedly going to have a contact with water or rain, or you have a cold and want to blow your nose every now and then, or maybe in winter you cover your face with a scarf and your breath would make the scarf a little moist; choosing Caudalie tinted moisturizer can turn into a little make-up disaster. It just comes right off and not in a good way. The area that had contact with water looks almost soapy, turning your moisturizer into obvious and visible bits of whitish foam; and if you don’t take care of it right there and then the mess’s going to dry like that leaving some weird quite dark marks.
I love the healthy glow it gives though. It has some shimmer to it, visible under the direct light but it’s not obstructive. The color it gives is beautiful, not orangy-cheap which is precious. Caudalie Teint Divin gives quite a beautiful sun kissed overall effect that can last you all day long (if you are out of water that is). I enjoy the smell too, pure Caudalie chic.
All right, this seems to be it! I know this review is pretty confusing, it’s hard to understand if I like the product or not but that’s exactly the way I feel about it. I really want to love it just as much as I adore other Caudalie cosmetics I tried, but I just can’t. I’ll use up this tube and try something else; maybe second time will be a charm?
