Canadian Cartographic Association Student Map Competition Awards
The Canadian Cartographic Association (CCA) have several opportunities available for students in cartographic and geospatial related programs.
Every year the CCA announces awards, prizes and scholarships for Canadian post-secondary students involved in any forms of cartography or map-making. All entries should be accompanied by an official entry form.
1 The CCA President's Prize recognizes excellence in student map design and production and is awarded to the Best Student Paper/Presentation delivered at the annual CCA conference (this year it will be in Prince George, BC). The President's Prize Competition consists of two prizes of $250
To further encourage student participation, the CCA is offering travel funding grants of up to $300 for students meeting the grant criteria. Students may submit a direct request on the CCA website, along with their submission form.
Student Mapping Competitions: Announcement and Entry Form2 The Carto-Québec Prize, a special annual competition for the best student-authored cartographic product created in French.
The competition is open to all post-secondary students in Canada who have completed and produced a cartographic project in the preceding school year. The Carto-Québec Prize will consist of two awards of $500, one for entries from college-level or CEGEP students, and one for entries from university-level students.
he CCA Web Map Award Competition recognizes excellence in web mapping and is open to all post-secondary students who have completed and produced a web map in the preceding school year. The CCA Web Map Award will consist of one prize of $250 selected from entries from college-level, CEGEP students, or university-level students.
