What is calorie counting? It is a way to log how many calories you have consumed in the day and it tells you how many calories are in specific foods.
Why do people disagree? Some people say that it can lead to eating disorders. It makes people aware of how many calories are in certain foods, and puts them off eating them. Some foods are good for you and high in calories, but people may look past the fact that the food is good for you and may just cut it out. It may also lead to people being very controlling and weighing out every single portion of food they eat.
Why do people agree?People like calorie counting as it is a way of making people aware of what they are eating. Some people don't always do it to count the calories, they just do it to log the foods they have been eating. They may do it to find out which foods have x amount of calories. If someone is eating the same food every day but are not aware of what is in it then calorie counting shows people exactly what they are eating and, if they need too, change their diet.
When I start a weight loss plan I use it for about 2 weeks. I do this as I want to find out how many calories I usually eat and what I need to cut down. After two weeks I am used to what I am eating and how I need to change my diet. I delete it as I don't want to get tied down logging every meal I eat.
