I get home pretty late during the week and when it comes time to perform my nightly bedtime routine, it sometimes feels like a chore: removing makeup, brushing my teeth, exfoliating, cleansing my face, moisturizing, and sometimes applying a facial mask. By the time I'm finished, I'm usually dragging myself to bed. Often, I purchase makeup remover wipes to make the job easier followed by a good cleanser. I'm always looking for products that will
Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser's star player is Clary Sage, a natural astringent that has both antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It also produces an ester called linalyl acetate, that helps reduce skin inflammation, heal rashes and regulate the production of the natural sebum of your skin, which could actually benefit both those suffering from oily or dry skin.
The cleanser also contains ingredients such as Castor seed oil, bitter orange peel, jojoba esters, coconut oil and olive fruit oil. There are a few questionable ingredients and those with soy allergies (depending on sensitivities) may want to steer clear of this one however, none of the ingredients rated higher than a "low hazard" rating according to the Environmental Working Group.
On Using the Product:
You can apply the cleanser to your wet face using either your bare hands, or your could use a washcloth or a facial sponge. I prefer to use a facial sponge to remove any dead skin. I used this all over my face, even to remove my eye makeup and it was very mild and gentle. I didn't have any issues with the product burning my eyes at all. The cleaner is thick and creamy, and the fragrance is refreshingly faint and organic. This cream didn't dry my skin out and I didn't get that "tight face" feeling after using it.
Final Thoughts:
The question is, would I purchase the Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser with my own money? I sure would, at $6.99 for a pack of makeup remover wipes that last me about 30 days, paying less than $10 for a product that actually works, contains primarily all natural ingredients, and would last me close to three months is definitely an investment in my book.
