Sudheesh Kumar, the president of Kerala Hotel and Restaurants’ Association that which had called for the chicken ban, said that the industry had already found the alternatives. “Instead of chicken, hotels in Kovalam will throw up quail or duck or turkey dishes,” he said.Hotels that had taken orders too will be in a fix. Therefore, in Kochi the ban on chicken is unlikely to be implemented by top-end hotels. But the star hotels too have given an assurance to the Kerala Hotel and Restaurants Association to limit chicken in the menu to the extent possible.
