Brittanie's Thyme Organic Peppermint Lip Cream

By Urhappybunnie @joaniebunnie
Is it just me or have your lips been dry and parched too since the cooler weather came? Well, I have always had dry skin and lips for most of the year but it has been extremely so since the fall season started. Britannie's Thyme reached out to me again and asked me to review their new lip care line and I jumped on the opportunity since I know the brand after having reviewing some of their stuff a couple months ago (Organic Balancing Facial Toner & Organic Almond and Oatmeal Scrub).
For those who don't know, Brittanie's Thyme is a skin care company that has all organic products for an affordable price. They make sure that their products cater to everyone by putting out products for every skin type. All ingredients are of high quality, USDA certified organic and cruelty free. Customer service is great so don't be afraid to contact them if you have any concerns.
Getting back on the topic of lip care, they recently just released their Organic Lip Scrubs and Organic Lip Creams! There are three lip cream variations - Vanilla, Peppermint and Unflavored. I was sent the Organic Lip Cream in Peppermint for review consideration and I already started loving it since I first tried it.

Before going down to the review proper, let's talk about the packaging. The lip cream comes in a typical Britannie's Thyme box which is white and has this colorful leaves (or is it flowers?) - which is their logo - in the corners of the box. I love how it gives you a background of the product and it's pretty straightforward with it's ingredients list. So this product claims to be "a perfect daily moisturizer that can be worn alone or under lip tints and colors."

The lip cream comes in a typical squeeze tube container with a slanted tip for application. The peppermint scented/flavored cream is in a pale yellow color and it definitely smells like peppermint and something else - definitely organic! The scent is a little bit weird but not unpleasant or bothersome since it disappears right away after application but this is something to keep in mind if y9u have a very sensitive nose. There isn't really a taste to this product nor is it a plumping cream like most minty lip products are.

The texture of this product is very surprising to me when I first tried it. At first, I squeezed a small amount on the back of my hand found that it does not have creamy texture but sort of soft gritty feel, like it was a fruit that was not finely blended. Upon application on the lips I found that this has dissolved into a slightly thicker balm. It reminded me so much of the consistency of the Aquaphor Healing Ointment which has been my all-time go to lip moisturizer. It is quickly absorbed by the lips and left the skin smooth and soft. It does not feel greasy, sticky or slippery which I really hate in most lip balms or creams.
I am definitely loving this lip cream and I have been using it all throughout the day since I got it. I particularly love applying it just before I sleep to keep my lips hydrated throughout the night and I also like prepping my lips with this lip cream before applying my makeup. It just makes the lips so much smoother and the lipsticks easier to apply. Since I'm a huge fan of matte lipsticks which are mostly dry in formulation, prepping my lips with this lip cream just makes it such a breeze to apply. Matte lipsticks are also drying on the lips throughout the day and this just helps keep my lips moisturized underneath.
Overall I'm very pleased about this product and highly recommend it. The Organic Lip Cream retails for $8 at Brittanie's Thyme website. Please check out Britannie's Thyme for more of their skin care products. I have also previously reviewed their products as well so go ahead and take a peek (Organic Balancing Facial Toner & Organic Almond and Oatmeal Scrub).
