Bristol Fashion Week BFWSS14

Hey There,

Not only do I love writing my blog, but I also get to be social with it to. Now and then I get the chance to attend blogger events, and this time, I went to Bristol Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014, (It was so much fun).

I wasn’t really sure what exactly to expect, (As this was my first fashion event), so as you can imagine, I was overly excited and nervous rolled in to one… And as of course my ‘plan’ didn’t exactly go according to plan… I arrived into Bristol late,(Traffic and weather, of course) I ended up spending £50.00 in Taxis, (I’m over it now, so I won’t bore you with the details), and just about made it into the show on time. To top things off, my phone camera decided to play up. Although I spent most of the show in a fluster, I can not tell you how much fun I had.

Mark Heyes and Andrew Barton were fabulous presenters, they looked so smart and sophisticated in their stylish suits. I was expecting just a few gorgeous models strutting their stuff on the cat walk in various outfits, but we got so much more. It was like a performance, the settings, the music, and the dancing, it was a fantastic show, (And now I need to go on a serious shopping spree).

Of course we had pastels, (One of my favorite spring trends at the moment), but getting me super excited for this spring summer, was the stunning bright, colours, floral patterns and prints.

I have always loved a man in a suit, (Who doesn’t), and you can’t go wrong with Marks and Spencer’s, (Just look at those models). I also have my eye on that gorgeous orange crop, and that clutch bag. (Jewellery from Ernest Jones and Sunglasses from Sunglass Hut)

John Lewis, (And Vision Express Sunglasses) didn’t fail to please either, with their nautical inspired clothing, (My favorite outfit choice being the bottom right), I got the feeling the Ted Baker swimsuit, turned the most heads, (Oh and the kids clothes were adorable).

John Lewis and Next then upped the temperature with these beautiful colours, and floral prints, (Accessories from Claires). Having just written a post on ‘How to Style’ floral trousers over on Beauteviemode, I was loving the bright top, and bold accessory combo.

Ann Summers opted for a Bollywood theme, with some amazing bright and tropical colours to show of there lingerie sets, (Jewellery from Accessorize).

I particularly loved the different prints coming from Bank Fashion, they had many bold individual pieces, perfect for this Spring Summer, (Accessories from Claires). The fashion show definitely made me want to go and add a few more printed items to my wardrobe.

We then saw a parade of sophisticated spring summer attire, perfect for special occasions, (In particular weddings), all from Dorothy Perkins, BHS and Radley. The floral and pastel trends really standing out here.

Some more colourful prints and styling came in from Animal, for more of a comfy casual look.

Not only did we see what the high street shops had to offer this Spring Summer, but we were also lucky enough to see some amazing and very creative designs from the John Lewis Student Prom competition. The Finalists were all incredible, I couldn’t believe how good some of the creations were, (I think the Batman one would sell a few, judging by the comments during the show).

And the winner was… I can definitely see her bringing out her own fashion range in a few years to come, (So watch out).  The netting, colouring, and lace top did it for me, (Basically the whole dress).

The shows finale hosted various high street retailers, Next, River Island, Karen Millen, John Lewis, M&S, Gap and Croc footwear.

As you can see, the show was very lively and entertaining…

WHAT PARTICULAR STYLE WILL YOU BE GOING FOR THIS SPRING SUMMER?

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURTIE SET FROM THE BFWSS14 SHOW?

Lots of love,

KBxx
