Yesterday I had a wonderful day. I went to a Bridal Expo with my mom and future mother-in-law. It was quite the reminder that I am, in fact, going to be a bride.
I wore my engagement present from my mom and dad. This one is known as my “special special occasion” watch. And my mom and I are twins when we wear them.
We walked around and talked to different vendors. There were really only three that I was interested in. The first one made custom shirts so my mom ordered a couple things for me. I will definitely show them off on the blog when I receive them in the mail. The second was the owner of the local wedding dress shop. She’s actually a friend of the family and I’m pretty sure I will order my dress through her. I showed her a picture of what I want and she told me to find out the designer and let her know and she can order it for me. She also suggested I come in to try on a bunch of styles. She said I won’t know what I like until I try it on. I’m sure that is very true so I will probably do just that. The third vendor I was interested in does table rentals and one of their setups grabbed my attention as soon as I walked by.
We also drank mimosas and watched a fashion show. The dresses were beautiful but none of them were what I’m looking for.
After the expo we got coffee and sat and talked for a little while. I love the fact that my parents get along with my fiancé’s parents. I know that’s very rare. I’ve heard horror stories. My fiancé and I got very lucky. We talked about Christmas and the wedding and everything in between.
We went back to my parents’ house to drop off my mom and we hung out and talked for a little while longer. I love seeing my baby. I miss him so much when I’m in Palm Desert. My dad is very attached to him so when I moved, my dad refused to let me take him.
Here is all the swag I received from the expo. Lot’s of magazines and pamphlets to look through. Most of it is not what we want but it’s still fun to look.
And our first gift as an engaged couple! From my fiancé’s mom and dad. It’s an ornament for our Christmas tree but I may just keep it out all year long. Isn’t it the cutest thing ever? I love the diamond! Makes me really really miss mine. I actually just received a call from the jewelers and my ring is ready to be picked up!!! I'm so excited I could burst!!! Hopefully we can run over and get it when my fiancé gets home from work. The decorative sign was also a gift from my future mother-in-law but she gave us that a couple months back.
