Everyone around Planet Earth is excited about these events in the land of Samba! They are definitely thinking of the party atmosphere, the beaches, São Paulo’s night life, a visit to the Amazon and many other attractive things you can find in the former Portuguese Colony.
Brazilians also seem very excited with the events, especially the World Cup, after all we deserve it for everything the green, yellow and blue have done on pitch! Which other country has won this grand event a total of 5 times, and has it’s top scorer of all time Ronaldo with 15 goals.
At the same time as we see this excitement on the streets there are a lot of intelligent, well informed people who also worry about the after effects. It’s no secret that stadiums need to improve as well as airports, transportation in general, security, and the country’s infra-structure as a whole. The question is, WHO WILL PAY THE BILL? Tax payers will have to fork out the billions of Reais (Brazilian Currency), and the question is, IS IT WORTH IT?
To me it is only worth it if you do things by the book, that is, within the law of the country, and respecting the populations opinions and concerns, like where the money is coming from, as well as having fair public bidding for the work that needs to be done.
Will everything be done in the correct manner? I sure hope so!
Will the events be a success? I sure hope so!
Will BRASIL win the 2014 World Cup? I DEFINETELY HOPE SO!!!!!!!
