Oops. I broke my no buy ban… but in my defence I found a 40% off voucher online and thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a product I’ve been looking at for ages but have always refused to pay £12 for when I don’t even know if I like it. So if you really think about it I couldn’t turn that down, that’d be dumb.
So I add said item to my virtual basket of joy and just as I’m hovering over the checkout button it hits me – Kayla, you have 40% off. Coupons like this don’t come around every day girl…
Let’s look at this positively and say that it could have been worse… I think I only spent a little over £20 which was still too much and probably unneccessary but still.
I’m actually gonna go out on a limb here and say I was pretty logical about my purchases; I didn’t buy any of their smelly/soap/scrub/mist/shit range as I’m still working my way through a rather large stash of Soap & Glory, and I didn’t buy any of their makeup as I already have a substantial amount that needs to be used… GOD DAMMIT GIVE ME A MEDAL ALREADY. Or one of those shiny star stickers you got in school, I’m not fussy.
This is the product I originally wanted, so I’m holding it responsible for my mini splurge. I’ve heard a lot about this and have wanted to give it a go for myself for quite a while but I just wasn’t prepared to spend £12 on something that may not even work for me. I’ve only used it once so I can’t say too much about it, but it did remove some stubborn eyeliner from my tight line nicely! Oh, and it smells good too.
I decided to give this a go because my hands have been super dry lately. The latex style gloves I have to wear for work make my hands really hot, so I have powdered ones which means it’s easier to take one pair off and put a new pair on, but it also means that I’m left with white powder all over my hands which then marks my black trousers, so then I have to keep washing my hands… do you see where I’m going?
I’ve been putting this on about 10-15 mins before I have to wear my gloves and I have to say I’ve noticed a difference – I had a few really dry patches around my knuckles which have almost gone completley! I’m really not sure of the smell though, I wish they did another scent! Or maybe they do and I just missed it somehow… I like what it’s done to my hands nonetheless!
I wouldn’t usually go for products like these, but I thought they might be really nice to use in the summer. I don’t have the luxury of working in an air conditioned environment anymore, so if I see a product that I think will make this summer a bit more bearable there’s no way I can leave it behind! I’ve used them both a couple of times already and not only do they smell amazing, they actually feel like they do what it says on the bottle!
Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel – Originally £7
I am so suprised at this. I didn’t check how much product you actually got before I bought it and when it arrived I was shocked at how tiny it was! I’ve used it a few times now and I can tell you it’s gonna last a while. If you dip just the very tip of your finger in this you’ve got way too much for both eyes. And after only a handful of uses my under eyes feel amazing. I don’t think they look any different – just a bit fresher, which is much needed after all the working and binge watching American Horror Story I’ve been doing. I think this is actually a mens product, but my peepers like it!
And that’s it! It’s not the biggest haul but I’m honestly pretty pleased with every thing I bought… and to think I’d never tried Body Shop products before this! This could become a dangerous love affair… first Soap & Glory (we’re stil going strong) and now Body Shop! And to think I almost dismissed this glorious coupon… I got an email from Voucher Codes telling me about it, so if you hurry it may still be available!
Let me know what your favourite Body Shop product is!
