Blackhawks/Bruins

This NHL Stanley Cup series is one that simply cannot be forgotten.

The Chicago Blackhawks, the best team in the NHL, starting the season with 24 straight games with at least one point.  The Boston Bruins, a team the city has embraced since the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Stanley Cup, a series meant to be winner take all, currently the series is tied at 2 a piece.  Teams battling to the brink and beyond, three of four games going into overtime, the first of those being a triple overtime thriller.  Close action, first three games teams combined for 12 goals, in game four 11 were scored combined.

If game seven happens, it is slated that the team will have played at least 21 periods of hockey, provided no overtime.  In this series, almost 17 periods of hockey have been played.

Unlike other sports, the refs have allowed both teams to fight it out.  During the regular season, plenty of close calls would have been called.  In the Stanley Cup Finals, almost anything goes that is not blatant or dangerous.  This is what separates the men from the boys, the Winners vs the dreamers.

This is a series that has been considered one of the best in history.  And I must say it has been.  It is good for hockey to have this kind of series after having a locked out season.

I am excited to continue watching this series.  Whether my Blackhawks win of lose, I will be glad they were a apart of this series!
