Blackhawks Take Two

Blackhawks WinThe Chicago Blackhawks beat the Nashville Predators twice this past weekend.

On Saturday the Blackhawks got the 1-0 shutout victory after Brian Bickell tallied the lone goal just over five minutes into the game.  Assisted by Michal Handzus and Marcus Kruger.

The Hawks had to come from behind in Sundays 5-3 victory over the Predators.  After going down 3-2 in the third, the Hawks scored three unanswered goals.

Andrew Shaw got the scoring started when he netted one just over six minutes into the game.  Assisted by Michael Frolik and Niklas Hjalmarsson.  Ten minutes later Nick Spalling answered for the Predators.  Assisted by Sergei Kostitsyn.  The first ended in a 1-1 tie.

Bryan Bickell got the second period scoring started just two minutes in with his second of the weekend.  Assisted by Viktor Stalberg and Michal Rozsival.  The Predators answered minutes later when Shea Weber scored.  Assisted by Nick Spalling.  Second end much like the first in a 2-2 tie.

Four goals were scored in the third period.  Scoring was started off by Nashville’s David Legwand.  Assisted by Matt Halischuk and Shea Weber.  The Hawks responded with two goals :55 seconds apart from each other.  The first was scored by Brandon Saad.  Assisted by Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews.  The second was scored by Jonathan Toews.  Assisted by Patrick Kane and Andrew Shaw.  With thirty seconds left Patrick Kane added an unassisted empty netter to seal the deal.

After this weekend series the Chicago Blackhawks have now clinched a Playoff spot.  They are the first team in the NHL to clinch a playoff spot.

Tuesday night the Chicago Blackhawks travel to the Twin Cities to take on the Minnesota Wild.
