Birthday Thanks and Other Fabulous Things

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Well, I’m back after a fabulous birthday weekend (even though I was at work for most of it).  I received some fantastic gifts from my parents like the first four books in the “Game of Thrones” series, some tea from Teavana (for those of you who don’t know it’s one of the only places to get loose leaf tea, at least around where I live) and some bath stuff from Lush which is still one of my favorite stores.  Plenty to be happy about!  And I even managed to send off some thank-you notes this morning.

I want to give a special shout out to Kay over at This is the Crafty One for her fantastic birthday present from overseas.  Her blog was one of the first I started to follow and we’ve been commenting back and forth ever since.  It amazes me what fantastic people I’ve met through wordpress.  Anyway, for those of you who follow her blog, you should be jealous, because I got one of her fabulous handmade cards.

So again, another big thank you to This is the Crafty One, I’ve been showing off my treats all weekend to make everyone else jealous they don’t have a fabulous cross-stitch friend over in England to send them gifts.  And because I enjoyed this so much I’m going to get some cross-stitch gifts together for around Christmas (ornaments and bookmarks probably) to send to any of my followers willing to trust me with an address.  So keep following for updates on that as we get closer to the holiday season because I’d love to send out some of my crafts to you all as well!

I also have some cross-stitch progress to share with you all.  Today is a very picture heavy post, but I’m sure you don’t mind.

tantalizingly close to the finish!

As you can see everything is almost totally filled in!

Now I”m at the point where it really is just a few more hours of work to finish and I’m very excited!

Hope you all have an excellent week this week.  Do something crafty and read some good books.  I’m pretty busy with work this week as my hours have doubled from what I had last week, but that’s a good thing!  I love being busy and feeling like I’m accomplishing things so I’m enjoying my last hectic weeks of summer to be followed by an even more hectic fall.
