Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Roller Lash is the hotly anticipated new launch from Benefit Cosmetics that has hit the beauty world in full force and been blogged by almost every beauty bod so I thought, why not throw my thoughts into the pot for all you lovely Kellilash readers that want to know more about it.
If you are a regular reader of my blog then you shall know that Benefit They're Real mascara bas been my favourite for a long time now, closely followed by Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in more recent months, so I for one was eager to lay my hands on one to see if it would beat its own competitor. This is a tall order seeing as Benefit's They're Real mascara is the No.1 selling mascara with 1 in every 4 sales being The're Real! I feel Roller Lash has an awful lot to live upto.

"Roller Lash is designed to be exactly that, a roller for your lashes! The eye opening Hook 'n' Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls while the instant curve setting formula holds for 12 hours". Water resistant, easy to remove, satin black finish, contains lash conditioners."

How to apply - Gently wiggle the wand from base to lash tip. Repeat on all lashes making sure you catch every one.

I quite like the quirkiness of this mascara with the 'hair holler' handle, very cute and makes it easier to find in your make-up bag!

Here's my verdict ...

First Impressions - With any new mascara it takes me a good few days and trials until I make up my mind up whether I like it or not as some take a little more getting used to. I wasn't blown away on first application as it didn't give me that wow factor like They're Real did. I did however notice how light the formulation was and how it made my lashes instantly look like I had just had an eyelash tint. Anyone who gets their fair eyelashes tinted black shall understand this! The special wand design does definitely grab each and every lash, even the really short baby ones in hiding and all without any mess or smudging which I do like. I didn't feel that it curled my lashes that much, it just held them up but more straight rather than curved.

It does lengthen and separate incredibly well and adds just a little volume but not that much and the curling effect is very slight, but it does help to open up the eye. The formula is super lightweight and conditioning so it wont weigh your lashes down, even fine lashes so you can build it up as much as you want without any clumping or heaviness. It doesn't flake, smudge or dry hard but stays soft and movable however much you apply and is super easy to take off!

In short, Roller Lash is perfect for anyone who likes length and definition and a mascara that's really lightweight. If you have short lashes then this shall really help to give them a boost and you shall love it! If you like volume and a more glamorous lash look then opt for They're Realas this does everything that Roller Lash does but adds that volume for a more intense look.
Benefit's Top Lash Look Tip .... Use both! For super curl and length; apply Roller Lash first to curl and lift then layer this with They're Real for sexy drama!

Personally They're Real is still my winner as I am more of a 'full on lashes' kinda girl!
