Summary:
You can build the mascara up depending upon how dramatic you want your eyelashes to look; a couple of quick strokes will give a subtle coating of mascara perfect for a light and fresh look, but wiggling the brush around adds great volume to eyelashes. I find that 1 coat with wiggles is perfect for work because the mascara is noticeable but not overwhelming, but with 2 coat of the mascara you really can notice a difference! It’s almost on par with false lashes! Eyelashes look thicker, fuller and longer, and because the brush doesn’t load lots of mascara onto your eyelashes it gives you a lot more control on exactly how you want your eyelashes to look.
Unlike lots of newer mascara, the Bad Gal mascara has a traditional application brush, except it’s thicker and longer so you get a good and even coating across more of your eyelashes. The great thing is that the mascara doesn’t clump either, but I would have preferred it if the mascara separated lashes more.
The staying power is also impressive. Although I don’t have the waterproof version of the mascara, I have found that it will last all day, thinning slightly as the day goes on. If I rub my eyelashes they don’t feel hard and they don’t crack and cause mascara flakes; and for me that’s a huge bonus.
I do think the £17.50 price tag is a little steep, but the mascara will last you a while, and you know it’s one you can rely on. Having said that, I would hesitate in buying another Bad Gal when this one runs out because there are some good mascaras which are half or a third of the price. I would be keen to try one coat of Bad Gal and then They’re Real (Benefit’s newer mascara) on top for a volumised and lengthened look (as recommended by Benefit!). I also think the Bad Gal in the plum shade look great, and I’ll have to give that one a go too soon! Definitely take the plunge and give Bad Gal a go, because you’ll be amazed how good it is!
