Considering today is President's day, I was thinking about taking a day off, but I just can't find it in me to neglect my blog & you guys- no matter what day. I have had a few emails asking what products I use on a day to day basis, and I was more than happy to share my beauty secrets! Over the years I have tried just about every product, and finally I have a regimen for my hair, skin, and face that I love & use religiously. My skin regimen is one of the most important things to me. I am all about the prevention wrinkles, maybe a little obsessed? The combination of all the products above keep my skin glowing & wrinkle free! Stay tuned to find out how what's in my make-up bag ☆.
1. StriVectin Eye Cream: this stuff is a miracle worker. StriVectin was originally used to reduce and prevent stretch marks, yet ended up being a wrinkle reducing phenomenon! Who knows who decided to put stretch mark cream under their eyes, but thank you, because now we all can use StriVectin eye cream! It also helps to diminish unsightly bags and dark circles (added plus)!
2. St.Ives Apricot Scrub: I have been using this since I was 16 years old, and it is my absolute favorite. Some people say to only use a scrub once a week on your face, but I don't follow that rule. Every time I use St.Ives apricot scrub my face is soft as can be & incredibly glowy.
3. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: If you are not a fan of exfoliating on the daily, swap out your scrub every other day with this Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser.
4. Bio-Oil: When I was in my teens I had a nasty little habit, picking. For a while I had a few teeny scars that were making me very unhappy. I some how stumbled across Bio-Oil and with in weeks my scars had diminished. Moral of the story: don't pick, and if you do... get Bio-Oil!
5. Neutrogena Nu-Wave: Sure if you have tons of money lying around, splurge on the Clarisonic brush. Yet if you are smart, get the Neutrogena Nu-Wave. My mom has the Clarisonic brush and offered to get me one, but instead I picked up this bad boy and guess what? It gave me the exact same result. Taut and healthy skin that glows. Verdict: save money, go for the Nu-Wave.
6. Olay Age Defying Night Cream: Night cream is a must. Don't ever think otherwise. There are tons of different night creams out there, some expensive and some not. I personally don't think you need to go to the department store and spend a hundred bucks on night cream, especially when there are ones out there like Olay age defying night cream. This cream goes on light and works through the night. I wake up with soft skin that is not greasy. Which is key.
7. Hempz Body Lotion: Skin care doesn't end with the face. Every time I get out of the shower and/or before I go to bed, I generously apply Hempz body lotion. It smells delicious and makes my skin soft as a babies bottom.
8. Vita-K for Dark Circles: Ever since I was a little girl, I was cursed with black eye circles. Whether it's allergies or thin skin under my eyes- I haven't quite figured out the cause. Which means I need to pay extra attention to my under eyes. I was recommended Vita-K for dark circles, and it has done absolute wanders for me. Another tip that my mom always taught me was to only put on eye cream & make-up with your ring finger. The reason behind this is that your ring finger is the least strong of all your fingers, making sure that you are not rubbing that area too strongly. Always pat, the skin of your under eyes is comparable to delicate tissue. Be gentle.
9. Frownies: Last, but certainly not least. My biggest skin care secret is frownies. My Grandma used these just about all her life, and let me tell you, she had the most perfect skin ever. She passed her secret on to my mom, who also has insane skin, and now I am an avid believer. Frownies are adhesive stickers that you place either on your forehead, the sides of your mouth, or the sides of your eyes before you hit the hay. You may not know this, but you make more expressions in your sleep than you do when you are awake, frownies help keep your skin in place so that even when you are frowning or laughing in your sleep, you don't get parentheses around your mouth!
