It's a well known fact that if Sex and the City had started it's season (or had continued its seasons) today, that Carrie Bradshaw would have been a blogger. No doubt about it. Sex and the City is one of my all time favorite shows; I've seen the entire season collection more times than I am willing to admit, and when I watched both movies I couldn't help but squealing with joy when I saw items from Carrie's closet make their cameos. Like many others, I have dreamed of having a closet like Carrie's. While I may never have a closet full of Manolo or Nicholas Kirkwood heels as she did, I still look to her for inspiration! In today's collaboration post, I want to show you how I picked my favorite TV icon Carrie Bradshaw and created an outfit inspired by her!Continue after the jump to see how and why I assembled what I did to create this inspired look!
Carrie Bradshaw loves a good heel: Her top two favorites? An open toe d'Osay pump by Manolo Blahnik, and sling backs. A close third is the pointed toe pump. Most of her shoes are conservative: meaning the shapes and colors of her shoes are one's that will stand the test of time and trends. Carrie spends
a lot of money on her shoes, she isn't one to buy into a trend that will be gone within 6-12 months.
If I had to guess what Carrie Bradshaw's favorite piece of jewelry was, I would have to say it's the necklace. One season it was the namesake necklace that she couldn't get enough of, another it was pearls, and yet another season was the heart necklace. Still, it usually isn't the jewelry that does the talking in her outfits: it's the clothes. The jewelry is just there to highlight!

One thing that I really admire about Carrie's style is that she is no bag snob. Sure her closet has a Dior saddle bag, a Prada clutch, a couple of Chanel bags...but she also totes along no-name bags that she found from street vendors as well. For my outfit I chose my new Love Moschino bag - it's got that Carrie quirk to it, don't you think? Also, notice the lacy bra peeking out? Carrie doesn't mind letting a little bit of lingere peek through! Some of it is just too pretty to hide!So lovelies, are you inspired?
