Did you know that  regular exposure to harmful UV rays without any sunscreen protection could lead to freckles, deepened wrinkles and other skin ailments. It is not a mere choice, but a necessity for everyone to look for an absolute quality sun care. And my choice would be no other than TheFaceShop's Eco Sun range

I've always had a high regard for TheFaceshop Natural Sun Eco Suncare range which features sweat/water- resistance with a silky feel on skin that makes it great for humid climates like Singapore. If you had read my previous review on the Natural Sun Eco, you'll know that this new one also contains its signature eco-certified Organic Sunflower sprout extracts, a potent antioxidants which fortifies skin’s immune system, as well as a Natural Moisturizing Factor Ingredients (NMF). This means it keeps skin moisturized throughout the day while giving skin a nutritional boost of Vitamin A, C, D and E!

So how does the version 2.0 fare?
At first glance, it doesn't seem alot. The packaging tube with its orange sunflower motifs, SPF protection level and the color of the sun creams look the same. But that's where the similarities end: TheFaceShop Power Long-Lasting Sun Cream 45 PA++ feels more smooth and lighter in consistency, making it easier to get absorbed into skin quickly. The former actually leaves a very slight white cast if not smoothed in. Furthermore, unlike the older version which leaves a slight sticky afterfeel, whereas the new sun cream has a gelish moist feeling.

Plus, its good to note that this new Sun Cream also contains 2-in-1 UV block and Makeup base infused; this means it gives a mild form of coverage to hide blemishes and even out skintone. Because of it's lotion consistency, it kind of gives me a dewy-ish finish once I layer over with my TheFaceShop Cushion Screen Cell foundation (which also has SPF so its extra protection).

But its really the new kid on the (sun)block that has caught mt heart: TheFaceShop Natural Sun Eco Sebum Control Moisture Sun SPF 40 PA+++’. Firstly, sebum control are holy-grail words for me, considering how greasy my complexion gets after a long day. This latest sun cream contains eco-certified organic Sunflower extracts as well as Korea Native Cotton Seeds, which provides provide sun protection but also maintains hydration so that skin does not produce more oiliness to moisturise itself. Cotton seeds are rich in vitamin E, palmitic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid and has anti-aging properties as well!

When swatched on hand, it does not disappoint. It is a white lotion-y texture that has a powdery scent like the Long Lasting Sun Cream, but while I assumed there would be white cast I was surprised to see it did not. Instead, it felt lightweight and smoothing it into skin it transitioned into a matte finish  which made it perfect for me to layer on my usual makeup without feeling like I caked on too much layers onto my face. Also, I incidentally noticed that it is great as a primer of sorts by covering pores and brightening up my complexion.

After a day's test drive (almost 6 hours), I declared this as my go-to sunscreen product from here on. My face remained perfectly matte with just a mere hint of shine on my forehead zone. It is definitely an improvement from the previous sun creams and a definite repurchase for me.
