bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color in Naughty

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
Tis the season where red lipsticks dominate and many beauty brands release their limited edition shade of red. I have already talked about Too Faced's Melted Matte in Candy Cane, which is without a doubt the best liquid lipstick I have ever used. The bareMinerals Gen Nude Liquid Lipstick in Naughty ranks pretty high, too. Luckily Candy Cane and Naughty are very, very different shades of red.

bareMinerals described the Gen Nude formula as being a cream to matte formula that is long lasting and moisturizing. All of the other shades have a vanilla scent, but Naughty smells more like a delicious peppermint mocha. For those of you sensitive to scents, it doesn't linger at all.

Naughty is a gorgeous red with just a hint of warmth that gives it a slight "rusty" look.

The texture of this liquid lipstick is like a mousse-cream hybrid. It is a little bit thicker than most liquid lipsticks I have tried, so it doesn't spread as quickly. Despite the extra time needed, it does apply evenly. It isn't patchy or uneven at all, It never dries down 100%, so you will see some transfer throughout the day.  Despite that, it stays on very well. It doesn't crumble or start fading until many hours after application. The pigment and color payoff is very rich and opaque. One layer is all you need for total coverage. My lips never feel dry throughout the wear time. It doesn't accentuate any lip lines or dry patches, which is almost a miracle because most liquid lipsticks do.

The packaging is gorgeous. The outer packaging is a red, festive cardboard tube that doubles as an ornament. The actual lipstick packaging has am ombre effect going from silver to red and the top is gold.

This is $18 and it is available at Sephora and Ulta. I highly recommend picking this up for yourself. It would make a great gift, but hey, you deserve a little something, too.
If you have tried the other Gen Nude shades, let me know what you think! I would love to try out some of the other colors now.
