This is post number 3 of the back to school range; Time Management.
Other 2 posts include; Study Methods and Organisation
Top 3 rules to help with time management;
1. Know what needs done
2. Have a timetable
3. No cramming the night before
So Rule 1. Know what needs done and when for
Make a list of your exams, homework. Include how long it will take to do the homework and when its for. Obviously do the ones that take the longest or that are due first. Make a list of topics for each subjects and it makes it easier as it breaks it down and allows you to see what needs done and helps with step 2.
Rule 2. Have a Timetable.
For exams write out a timetable so you know what you are studying each day and for how long. Having a list already written helps you to beable to set put the timetable without missing any important sections. It means you can get up that day know what needs done and not having to faf about wondering what you have and havent done. It also allows you to make sure you evenly spread your time over all the subjects and not just do your favorite couple. Its important to spend an equal amount of time on all your subjects. If you dont you will break rule number 3. An example is the one below..
Rule 3. NO cramming
Put it this way if you only studing the night before it will NOT work. Nothing will go in and what ever you think you learnt that night you wont remember in the morning... Its silly, panicking and not a good way at all to study. Itsd good to go over important points the day before but not the whole course. Organisation and time management is important in allowing you to learn everything you need to know.
The next post will be on how to prepare for exams.
Hope this helps and will help you when it comes to exams.
