Autumn-Winter - Glow Purple

By Neerajnavare

This is a look I did on one of my clients (using BH cosmetics Tropical Shimmer Palette) and since I had the same colors in my Dior 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Extase Pink, I thought of getting inspired. Although these colors spell 'Summer' (that is when the collection was launched), the greys in the palette bring out the Autumnal effect in this look. Its very surreal and when paired with a darker plum lip spells the Vintage Vamp Look a la Charlotte Tilbury, whom I adore the most.
Please pardon the little lashes that come in between the fanned up mascara-ed lashes. I really hate them and pull them out every time ( I dont know whether I should do this or else I may go bald on that patch plus this disease is called Trichotilomania).

Also adding a bit of smokiness to the gel liner makes it look divine and ethereal. I call this as a Smokey Feliner....Anyways, lets see how to do this look....

This is an un-reviewed Dior Extase Pink Eyeshadow Quint that I got and never thought about. Overall this palette is a bummer as none of the colors are actually very wearable and I barely touch this one. Although these colors do look amazing as accents when used with other eyeshadow palettes. The colors are :-
  • Rosy pink with reflective silver sparkles
  • Grey brown
  • Duo chrome violet
  • Steel Grey
  • Pink-white with a very subtle lavender nuance

Conceal the under eyes with a suitable concealer. I have used my trusted Clinique All About Eyes concealer in 05 shade.

Tame the brows and fill them with a Rimmel Brow pencil wherever needed. Set with a brow gel. Prime the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer so that the eyeshadows stay in place.

With a Rimmel Water proof eye pencil in Black, trace the outer half of the upper lash line and wing it out. Join the wing with a line on the lower lash line from the outer third.

Blend out the edges by smoking it out with a pencil eyeshadow brush. I love the smokey hazy effect rather than the stark lines.

Highlight the inner corners and brow bone with the white pink. You can see the lavender tones peeking through it.

Define the outer corners and the crease with the steel gray eyeshadow.

Apply the shimmery Violet shade on the lower lids and smoke it out.

Apply the shimmery Violet on the outer 2/3 rd of entire lid and blend it into the crease.

Apply the sparkly rosy pink on the inner third of the lid. The silver sparkle is fine but conspicuous and looks ethereal during evenings.

Trace the lash line with Maybelline Gel liner using a Real Techniques Fine liner brush and draw a wing out of it. Keep the liner as close to the lashes as possible. I also drag it in the inner corners to enhance my eye shape and make it look more almond like.

Before the gel liner dries and sets, I smoked it out very very gently with the same liner brush. This adds softness to the look, making it apt for day wear too. Also to add a little bit of oomph and high reflectiveness, I applied the pink-white shimmery eyeshadow on the center of the lid with my fingers. This also blends out everything else.

Finish the look by adding dollops of Lancome Hypnose Doll's eyes mascara.
To complete the look, sculpt the face with Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons Bronzer and apply a touch of Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Ultra Rose for a chic flush of color. Add some highlights with Guerlain's Cruel Gardenia Meteorites Pressed Powder to bring light to the face. For the lips I choose to apply Tom Ford's Lipstick in Black Orchid (to take it to extreme levels) or a Maybelline 14 Hr Lipstick in Mauve do us Part.
Hope you liked the look. Do let me know in the comments.
Till then,
Ciao
