April 2016 Featured Birchbox Review

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

I have two Birchbox accounts. I have signed up on two different emails. I love Birchbox! It is one of the oldest subscription boxes out there. The boxes are so cute and they come with awesome brands. I have discovered many favorite brands through this service. Every month they allow you to pick one of your samples or opt for the guest editor/featured box. On one of my accounts, I opted for the featured box. The April featured box was called “Effortlessly Elegant” and was filled with products to help you feel pretty, polished, and effortlessly put-together. This box usually ships faster as well.

Cost: $10.00/month

Ships: To US, France, Canada, Spain, and the United Kingdom

Bonus: Use Code SUBSCRIBENOW50 to get 50 Birchbox points ($5) to spend in the shop!

FIRST IMPRESSION:

I loved this theme for April. I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what all was inside!

REVIEW OF ITEMS:

Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution

This is a deluxe size sample! I love my Garnier Micellar Water so I can’t wait to see how this one compares. It is supposed to remove makeup, cleanse skin, and soothe irritation. I can’t wait to try it!

Dr. Jart+ Liftra Contour Cream

This is sample size! It is a collagen-producing cream that visibly firms, lifts, and plumps the skin. It looks and sounds so cool! I can’t wait to test it!

Laura Geller New York Baked Blush-n-Brighten in Tropic Hues

This is a nice sample size! I have heard great things about these blushes. The blush is such a beautiful color with gold reflects. It will look gorgeous in the spring and summer. I just can’t wait to wear it. I love it!

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray

This is a sample size. This spray using marshmallow root to give locks instant volume and lift. My hair definitely needs some volume so I am excited about this product!

TOCCA Crema da Mano in Giulietta

This is a sample size. I have received this product in another subscription box and it is a nice hand cream. It smells amazing and really does moisturize my hands. I can’t wear it when my hands are really cracked because it does sting and irritate them a bit. However, it is a great moisturizer any other time.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

This was a pretty good box. I will try most of the products included. Birchbox is an awesome subscription at only $10/month. I discover so many awesome products through Birchbox. There were 5 products to review so that is essentially $5 to spend in the Birchbox shop. I love that Birchbox has an amazing point system. For every sample you review, you earn 10 points. Once you reach 100 points, you can redeem them for $10 to spend in the Birchbox shop. Therefore, this box was really only $5 if I review every product. I will continue subscribing to Birchbox. What did you receive in your Birchbox? What do you think of this month’s featured box?
