App Attack!!! (AlarmMon)

Available on iOS and Android

AlarmMon is an alarm app made by a Korean company. If you love cute characters waking you up, you will love this app. It does the same thing as the pre-installed clock app on your phone, but AlarmMon makes waking up early in the morning much more fun!

AlarmMon works the same as the pre-installed alarm app you already use. The only difference is that in addition to selecting the time you want to wake up, you also need to select the character you want to wake to.

There are many choices: Bready (a slice of bread), Floppy (a goldfish), Sheep (a sheep), Dooby (a turtle), Pico (a chicken), Shawshank (a panda), and even Hello Kitty, etc... There are so many choices that you can pick.

The characters are separated by how noisy their alarms are; some are obnoxiously noisy and some are calm. You don't need to worry about sleeping through these alarms, in fact they might even scare you into waking up. Once the alarm starts and you grab your phone, you are presented with a challenge. The AlarmMon alarm continues blaring until you complete the challenge.

The challenges are relatively easy such as sliding food to the sheep to keep him from starving; tapping at the optimal time to hide Shawshank from the spotlight which helps him escape prison; and even keeping track of a hidden object as it is being shuffled around. How fast you complete the challenge determines how many points you earn. You can then use the points to buy new characters.

Putting the App to Use:

Setting up everything in the app was quite simple. I had no issues with anything, but I had a tough time picking which character to wake me up. After setting the alarm, I didn't like that AlarmMon displayed a next alarm notification. However, I eventually saw that I could turn it off in the settings. AlarmMon did a great job waking me up the next morning (maybe too good of a job). The alarm was so revolting that it easily awoke me.

My Rating: Pros:

Guaranteed to wake you up

Simple to use

Many cute characters

Ads weren't intrusive

Cons:

"Calm" alarms are still noisy

Sometimes freezes
