Amir Khan became WBC silver light-welterweight champion.

Pakistani origin British boxer Amir Khan on Sunday defeated local lad Carlos Molina at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena to become WBC silver light-welterweight champion.

Molina had no answer to the quickness and aggression of Amir, who opened a cut over Molina’s left eye in the opening round and he bled for the rest of the fight.

Molina tried to bounce back with few shots but Khan’s majestic defense and counter attacks made the life hard for American.

The fight was stopped by Referee Jack Reiss after the 10th round after the consult Molina and his corner.

The clash was considered as do-or-die for Amir, who lost his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles after losing to Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson.

It was the 27th victory of the Briton’s career.
