Alyssa’s First Steps! Houston, We Have Lift-off…

I’ve read on a lot of parenting blog sites over the past year how their kids started walking early, just before their first birthday. So to me that was a challenge I had to accept. Can I help Alyssa build the skills, confidence, and balance to achieve self-sustained walking before her first birthday?

YES!

One thing I did learn quickly was that while the stepping skill and confidence to try things were easy to build within her, the BALANCE was something that just took time. A lot of time. And it happened overnight as if a light switch was flicked on in her brain during her sleep. I’ve been pinky leading her for a while now, just for the balance. Same for the bevy of walkers we have in the house for her to enjoy. They all take care of the motor skills and I highly recommend them. Fisher Price has a great assortment of walkers and I would recommend them to anyone a few months behind in their kids development who have not gone out and picked them up yet.

Without further adieu I present.. Alyssa’s First Steps!

A proud moment in our lives as parents, and the opening of Pandora’s box has begun!

If the speed of her walker running is any indication her plan is to run full speed 24/7/365.25 and yeah I add the quarter since she’s a Leap Day Baby!! The magic continues.
