For the first time, a fleet of mass-produced zero-emission vehicles took to the streets of Africa. Renault and Nissan provided shuttle services for the delegates of the 2011 UN Climate Change Conference with a  dozen zero-emission electric cars.  They also made the  Nissan LEAF and the Renault Fluence ZE available for test drives. Nissan LEAF is the current European and World Car of the Year. More than 18,000 units have been delivered since sales began at the end of 2010, making it the most successful EV of all time. By the end of the year, Renault will have two EVs on sale in Europe with two more due in 2012.
