A Typical Day of Eats

I never blog about what I ate for each meal, usually it’s a new recipe, or restaurant reviews, fitness, travel and wine posts. Lifetime offered me the chance to try their new salads at Life Café inside of my local gym.

A Typical Day of Eats on 6/8. After a good sweat early in the morning before work I stopped with my coupon to grab my salad to go. They happened to have a $4 breakfast special with a whole wheat wrap with eggs and cheese. Quick and easy and great for eating my at desk first thing when I got in.

Breakfast: Wrap with fresh fruit, a protein shake (just protein powder and water) and hot tea.

I was in meetings most of the day and didn’t have a chance to snack at all, I was so hungry by the time I got to lunch. My usually big bottle of water, an apple, a Mediterranean Chicken salad with sun dried tomatoes, feta, fresh greens and herbed chicken breast with balsamic vinaigrette on the side. A really filling salad. I would grab this again for lunch!

A bonus Larabar uber that I was sent to try, so good! I like Larabar’s but find them a bit bland sometimes and really appreciate the extra crunch.

Scott was actually home on a Friday night (instead of working) so we wandered down the street to a little pizza place. A basket of garlic knots (just pizza crust with garlic and parmesan cheese) and a small pizza. Perfect sized for just the 2 of us, we each had 3 small pieces of the pepperoni and mushroom. It was surprisingly good pizza.

Some healthy, some not. But all about a balance. I do not restrict food or call anything off limits. If I want pizza I eat it. But I also eat a lot of fruits and veggies, get enough protein and keep myself hydrated.
