The Tenth Man
Most us knew the Pirates had a 10th man in their fan base. As the season progressed it became clear that the Pirates had grabbed the hearts of the locals. Then of course there is that national Pirate fan not to mention those in the military Buc fans abroad. Last night was a spectacle. Over the winter we will all enjoy videos of replays of that captivating night.
I was perched on the edge of my seat watching the crowd involvement. The chanting Cuato, Cuato… had a quality of a tavern full of people all joined in song. I was jealous of those able to attend.
It prompted Pittsburgh second baseman and native Neil Walker to tell the media "It was awesome. Everything we thought it would be," he said. "There's no doubt the crowd was a 10th man tonight. We saw how important that home-field advantage was."

Reports up out of a pub purveying a popular beer in the bowels of PNC had a Reds wife looking for news headlines. Chick said some big dude’s girl roughed her up. ‘Take her to civil court’, the cops told her. Sounds mostly like a reality TV show audition.
Wonder if any of the 40,000+ fans had any action on the game’s outcome? But I digress. It’s on to St. Louis for two.
