A Look Back to September 2015 (beauty News and Trends)

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

Hey Beauty Lovers! In this series, I will take you on a trip down memory lane. I will be highlighting the beauty news and trends of the previous month. I think it will be fun to see what was trending during each month. This first post will be on the beauty news and trends for the month of September 2015. Let's get to trending.

The fish tail eye was definitely a popular trend during the month of September. I love this trend and think it is gorgeous. I hope you enjoy my recreation of this trend!

This palette was exclusively launched through Sephora. The palette costs $55 and includes 15 eyeshadow shades. I think the palette is gorgeous! Did you pick up this palette? What are your thoughts on this palette? Click here to purchase!

Urban Decay released the Vice 4 palette! The palette costs $60 and includes 20 eyeshadow shades. I love the packaging of this palette! Did you pick up this palette? What are your thoughts on this palette? Click here to purchase!

We all know face contouring is a huge trend. However, now there is hair contouring! Lighter shades are used for highlighting while darker tones are used to create shadow effects. Click here for more information on this technique.

This was a huge trend in September. It was started by NikkieTutorials and went viral. I have seen so many bloggers recreating this trend and I love it. Therefore, I decided to do my own (above). This trend really shows the power of makeup! Click here to learn more about this trend.

The Kardashian sisters (except Kourtney) all launched their own apps. What do you think about this? I downloaded the apps to try them for ya'll, but you only get a 7 day free trial. After the trial, the cost is $2.99/month. I did not feel like doing the 7 day free trial (I am not a huge Kardashian fan). However, if you want to download the apps they are available. If you do, let me know what you think of them. Which Kardashian app is your favorite? Click here for more information on these apps.

Maroon eyes was a makeup trend for September. I think maroon is such a gorgeous eyeshadow and it's so perfect for the beginning of fall. I love this trend and recreated it (above). Click here to learn how to recreate this trend.

This trend uses a sheet of glass to create a multidimensional look. I think this trend looks so unique and I totally want to try this on my hair. Click here to see results and more information.

Green eyeshadow was definitely treading in the month of September. It could be spotted on models all over the fashion runways. I created my own green eyeshadow accent look (above). Click here to see more photos with this trend.

LaSplash Cosmetics created 12 liquid lipsticks bases on Disney Princesses! This is so awesome, especially if you are a Disney fan! They are $14 each. Click here to purchase!

This is such a gorgeous trend! I love it and it totally reminds me of a mermaid. Click here for more information.

A trend in facial masks is to multi-mask. This is where multiple different masks are used on different parts of the face to achieve the ultimate face mask experience. I think this trend looks so awesome. Multimasking will truly make you feel like a scientist. I love it. Click here to learn more about this trend.

Colored eyebrows are a new trend. I have seen them everywhere; from blogs to Instagram. I am not sure what I think about this trend. I think it looks so cool, but I personally don't think I would do colored brows unless they were for a Halloween look. Click here for more information on this trend.

This is so awesome! Gwen Stefani is collaborating with Urban Decay. Her collection will be available on November 22! I can't wait to see what they come up with. Click here for more information!

Apparently, a new tattoo trend is teeth tattoos. To me, this is crazy. I would never tattoo my tooth. I am not sure if it would be painful because the teeth are very tough. However, if the ink penetrated to the nerves it would be incredibly painful. I just don't understand this trend at all. What do you think of this trend? Would you ever get a tooth tattoo? Click here for more information.

Apparently, the new trend in men's hair fashion is man braids! What do you think of this trend? Are you attracted to man braids? Click here for more information on this trend.

Baking is a huge trend this September. It is similar to highlighting the face, but no shimmer is used; only powder is used. The powder sets the foundation as well as chisels the face. Click here to learn more about this trend and for instructions on how to do it.

So many holiday makeup collections are being released this year. If I posted all of them, this post would be a mile long. MUT has a whole thread dedicated to this year's holiday collections. The thread contains pictures, prices, and where to purchase. I highly recommend checking out this thread to stay up to date of this year's holiday collections. It is constantly being updated and I find my holiday wish list growing ever so long. Click here! Also, click here for another great blog on holiday collections.
