A Little Nail Polish Tip

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
If like me you store your nail polishes in a drawer, box or any other method which requires the polishes to be standing up, it can be difficult to tell which polish is sitting where. This is especially difficult for bottles such as Models Own where the white lid is the only part on show. After seeing a couple of bloggers get around this problem by adding small swatches on the top of each bottle, I thought it would be a great idea to follow suit and make things a million times easier when choosing which color to paint your nails next.
This is a very simple thing to do and all you will need is a roll of tape (in my case I used a small roll of thin masking tape), a pair of scissors, your nail polish bottles and some patience as this may prove to be time consuming depending on the number of polishes you own. In my case I was sitting there for about an hour and a half but I was also watching the TV so I was just taking my time.

All you need to do is:
  1. Use your scissors to cut the roll of masking tape into small squares. I found it good to get a lot of these cut out at a time and then lined then up along the edge of my desk, ready to be used for the lids.
  2. Take one of the small squares and paint a swatch of your chosen polish in the middle of the tape. I'd recommend making sure the swatch is opaque as it will make identifying the color a lot easier when it is dried.
  3. Stick your painted piece of tape in the center of the nail polish lid and use your nail to secure the edges of the tape.
Continue these steps for each bottle of your nail polish and voila, you have easily identifiable bottles in any drawer or box!
