A Day Spent Snorkeling At Isla Mujeres With Casa Del Buceo

By Heather Hahn @HeatherHahnn

HEY GUYS!

I AM FINALLY BACK & BLOGGING.

I apologize that I left for a while, but there are some big changes in the works with the blog, and I really want to start bringing top quality content to you guys.

2016 wasn’t the best year for me, and everything just kept seeming super overwhelming, so it wasn’t easy for me to bring content that really made me happy, and that would make you guys happy as well….

So, YAY, here’s to 2017, and I cannot wait for you guys to see some of the new changes coming along within the next few weeks with the blog.

Anyways, I know that if you have been reading Chiffon Souffle, you probably follow me on social media too, and so with that being said, you’ve probably seen my trip pictures to Cancun, Mexico that I went on this past week.

I can’t remember the last time of when I went on an actual “vacation”, so this was such a nice getaway with one of my closest friends that i’ve known since I went to high school.

On our trip, we ended up staying at the Dreams Sands Cancun Resort, and we had an absolute blast, so if you ever go to Cancun, I would recommend staying there.

We pretty much had an excursion planned for every single day, and the one excursion that I had the most fun on had to of been snorkeling at Isla Mujeres with Casa del Buceo.

We ended up taking the ferry from our resort to the island, which was about a 5 minute drive to the ferry, and that took us over to Isla Mujeres, which I would say that it was just about a 20 minute ferry ride.

Then, as soon as we got to Isla Mujeres, we took a taxi straight to Casa del Buceo, which was nestled away in this quiet little spot, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere!

My best friend and I both hadn’t been snorkeling in years, so all of the staff at Casa del Buceo was super helpful, as far as what proper snorkeling gear we had to use, and needed.

If you’ve been snorkeling before, and you’re like me, where you get water in your gear, they actually have snorkeling gear where that doesn’t happen, which is really nice.

When they get you all set up with your flippers, mask and snorkel, they take you out to 2 different locations by the reef.

We ended up only going to the first location, because my friend wasn’t feeling well, but we still had such an amazing time, and generally you will go to both.

When you first get into the water, you either have the option of going off on your own to snorkel, or you can hang onto the flotation ring in the water, and let one of the guys guide you along the reef, which is what my friend and I did, because we both hadn’t snorkeled in such a long time.

We did end up seeing a ton of tropical fish, and even a stingray!

It was such a fun experience, and I would do it all over again the next time I go to Cancun.
