Lemon
Lemon juice contains citric acid which removes excess oil, dead skin, and other impurities. It's antiseptic qualities kill bacteria which leads to acne. It has natural antibacterial and astringent properties that help to clean the skin. Mix fresh lemon juice with equal parts of water and apply it 2-3 times a day before applying moisturizer. This will not only reduce acne and pimple problems but will also brighten the skin.Sandalwood
Sandalwood is used in most of the beauty and skincare products because of its medicinal properties. It's soothing and cooling effect reduces inflammation and irritation caused by acne. It is especially very good for those who have oily skin as excess oil absorbs dirt and this leads to acne problems. Make sandalwood paste by mixing 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder in rose water. Apply it all over the face and leave for 30 mins. Wash your face with cold water and get a glowing blemish-free skin.Green Tea
Green tea contains substances called Catechins, which is beneficial for treating acne. Its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties are effective at reducing acne and sebum (oil) excretion in the skin. Prepare a green tea face mask by blending leaves of two tea bags and mix it with aloe vera gel. Apply it on acne-prone areas and leave the mask for 10-15 mins. It reduces dark spots, acne breakouts, and fine lines.Honey
Honey holds antiseptic properties that prevent the growth of bacteria that try to settle in skin pores. It produces hydrogen peroxide which disinfects the skin. Its anti-inflammatory qualities reduce the swelling and redness that comes with acne. Wash your face with soap and warm water. Let it dry on its own. Now apply honey on your face gently and leave it for 15 mins. Rinse it off to have a fresh feel. Apply it on every alternate day for a month to get freedom from acne and scars.Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is widely known for it’s healing properties. It is a common home remedy that is used to soothe the skin. Aloe vera extracts are commonly used to heal minor rashes, cuts, and sunburns. It is also very useful to cure pimples, small scars, and other skin damages. Its antibacterial agent removes bacteria from the skin and reduces the risk of spot development. Prepare aloe vera solution by mixing two parts of water and one part of aloe vera juice and put it in a spray bottle. Spraying this solution on the skin will hydrate it and will reduce excess oil production.Mint Leaves
Mint contains salicylic acid, which is an anti-inflammatory agent that helps in clearing the clogged follicles. Its flavonoids and phenolics are excellent antioxidants that help in reducing oxidative stress and treating skin issues, such as acne and hyperpigmentation. Mint leaves are good to reduce microbial activities and thus help acne to dry and heal faster. To make mint leaves face mask, grind 10-15 mint leaves and mix it with 1 teaspoon of rose water. Apply it on the affected area and let it dry for 30 minutes. Rinse off with water and repeat the same daily until the acne is gone.Neem
Neem is a powerful antibacterial herb and is very effective for acne treatment. It is a natural astringent that fades scars and keeps skin smooth. As an antifungal and antibacterial it protects against the bacteria that cause acne. It has a unique mechanism that keeps the skin pores oil-free. It is also helpful in restoring the normal ph level of the skin by making it moist. Mix 1/2 cup grated cucumber with 1 teaspoon crushed neem leaves to make a paste. Apply it all over the face and wash after 20 mins. This will help to prevent further growth of acne.However, all the above-mentioned ingredients are natural and have no side effects but it is always suggested to check whether the skin is allergic to any of these or has any serious issue to be treated under medical supervision.
