5 Pieces: An Introduction

By Nina B @newshoesintown
Over one month into 2014 and my inspiration for better clothes and shoes has run dry. To inject a bit of motivation to get my 'wardrobe act' together, I'm embarking on a hopefully habit breaking, ruthless decision making learning experience to shop wiser.  Inspired by what Sabrina from afterDRK's calls "The 5 Piece French Wardrobe", I plan on picking up just five new pieces from now until mid July. There is one catch - basics don't count. Like fresh Uniqlo Heattech long sleeved tops, an updated breton stripe top, that kinda thing.

The Rules- buy only five things for six months- basics don't count (has to be a legit basic though, like Heattech is basic while cashmere is not)- designer shoes and bags totally count- accessories only count if over NZD $100 (shipping not included)The Preparation- put together a really solid wishlist. I started with this Mango quilted faux leather jacket. The unwelcome rain has been my excuse to layer this over tees and stripes. Can you tell I'm a bit excited about the return of sweater weather?  - stocking up on the basics when required
