5 New Body Lotions Tried and Compared in 2017

By Shoppingaholic @shoppingaholicc

In early months of 2017, I just wondered about trying new and hydrating body lotions which are non-sticky. I didn't realize that wondering is equal to putting out an intention to attract more of it. This is what happened! One after another, I manifested 5 body lotions in 2017 that I tried and came to a conclusion - including good and "not-so-bad".

These are the body lotions I tried in 2017

1. VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion - Available on Amazon, Nykaa 2. Ayurvedic Body Lotion by Dr. Rachit Mhatre and Team - Available on Instagram 3. Cetaphil Moisturizing Body Lotion for Sensitive Skin -  Available on  Amazon 4. St. Dvence Doy Moisturizer - Available on Amazon 5. Aroma Magic Cocoa Butter and Vanilla Body Cream -  Available on Amazon, Nykaa
, Aroma Magic

Are These Harmful Chemical-free Body Lotions?

VLCC, Dr. Rachit Mhatre's, St. Dvence and Aroma Magic are free of harmful and toxic chemicals and not tested on animals. But Cetaphil is full of questionable chemicals. "“Cetyl alcohol (an ingredient), is an emollient used in many cosmetics, is essentially a wax,” said Julia March, a skincare expert in NYC. “Propylene glycol is a common humectant (meaning it brings moisture from the air to the skin), but it also enhances product and chemical penetration into the skin and bloodstream. Sodium lauryl sulfate is a foaming agent, and skin and eye irritant, that disturbs the healthy lipid barrier of the skin, and parabens are a group of preservatives being phased out for potential health risks.” - Very Good light

Based on FrequentlyAsked Questions, Here is a Quick Comparison of All 5

Which is the most and least hydrating lotion out of these? 1. Cetaphil 2. Aroma Magic 3. VLCC 4. St. Dvence 5. Dr. Rachit Mhatre's Ayurvedic Body Lotion Which body lotion is the greasiest? None of these are the greasiest. But Cetaphil and Aroma Magic both leave a healthy sheen on the skin which eventually dissipates but ONLY for Aroma Magic. Which is the best body lotion among these to use in summers? VLCC should be the first choice among these because it has SPF15 with UVA and UVB protection. The 2nd and third choices are St. dvence and Dr. Rachit Mhatre's Ayurvedic body lotions.  While I am positive that Cetaphil and Aroma Magic will make the skin greasy. Which body lotion is the best for dry skin?  By all means, people with dry skin must choose Aroma magic first because it has all good qualities and then Cetaphil. On the other hand, the best choice for oily skin humans must be Dr. Rachit Mhatre's Ayurvedic body lotion because it has the lease chemical in it. However, I am saying this based on the information Dr. Rachit Mhatre' team gave me and there is no mention of ingredients on the bottle.

Which body lotion is the best for eczema or skin diseases? My 1-year-old daughter (who is 4 years old now), had a skin condition and required to use a hydrating lotion that could cure skin problems she had. After giving many thoughts and trying some medicated lotions - we switched to Cetaphil and it has cured all skin woes very effectively. However, since I am getting more conscious about using chemicals now and I know that we have better options available - I would choose Aroma Magic first.
Which body lotion has the most pleasant fragrance and which has the lease? St. Dvence has the strongest fragrance among all 5 but I like it as it lifts my mood. The good or bad thing, depending on your preference, this scent evaporates after a while. VLCC is liked the least because it has a plastic-like smell. Cetaphil has the mildest odor that leaves a trail of hint on the skin. I like that! Dr. Rachit Mhatre's body lotion smells like many bottles of essential oils were left open which is not a bad thing in my dictionary. Aroma Magic's pale and creamy body lotion smells exactly like my brown sugar+coffee+olive oil scrub.
SSU's favorite among these 5 body lotions? I grab Cetaphil followed by St. Dvence. But nowadays, finding myself more inclined towards Aroma Magic followed by St. Dvence. I have used Dr. Rachit's in the summer and never complained. So, I guess, this one will accompany me in summers again clubbed with VLCC (if I could bear the odor).
