5 Life-Saving Period Hacks to Try

By Jhilmil D Saha @jhilmildsaha

Hello, I am back with another interesting article, and this will be useful for many of you guys. These hacks are tried and tested by me, and I often do use these to get relief from awkward situations. So without further delay, let’s dig in.

1.   Getting your period while travelling: Believe me, this has happened to me and also while on a flight. Since it was not on the usual cycle, I was not carrying sanitary napkins or tampons. But luckily, what I had was a whole packet of tissue paper, which I always carry with me. And I was saved at that time by taking 6-8 sheets together, folded longitudinally, like a napkin and changing the same whenever needed.

2.      Rashes by wearing sanitary napkins: I have seen very few products that are supposed to soothe the skin if you get rashes or the skin becomes super sensitive by wearing your sanitary napkins for a long time. Some of them are very expensive. So I tried something very easily available: a baby diaper rash cream. It is affordable, readily available and mostly non-sticky in texture.

3.     Smell good even during periods: Vaginal washes are a suitable option to keep yourself smelling good. However, it may not be feasible during periods, so what is a better option? Apply a generous amount of talcum powder around your panty area, like your inner thighs and just around the crotch. This will keep any bad smell at bay for a long time and also make you feel fresh around those areas.

4.     Excessive dryness from wearing sanitary napkins: Our buttocks and lower back region can dry after our periods. We can use expensive body lotions and body serums to tackle that dryness. However, one of the most affordable ways is to apply baby oil daily in that dry area. Most Baby oils have aloe vera and vitamin E that help to soothe and moisturize the skin.

5.     Layering technique: This is something that saves a lot of women, especially during the days when the flow is very heavy. So you can layer 2 sanitary napkins, one on top of the other. And then wearing another panty with the sanitary napkins fixed similarly.

So these are the easy hacks that any woman can try out during their period.
