4 Modern Ways To Exfoliate Your Skin

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

Exfoliation is such an important part of a skincare routine but it no longer means using a gritty face scrub or wash anymore!

There are a whole host of different skincare products on the market, in a number of forms, which all deliver on exfoliation. From lotions, wipes and liquids, they can be used to help achieve a smooth, clear complexion and allow your other skincare products to penetrate the skin better.

Obagi-C® Rx System C-Exfoliating Day Lotion*

This is a brand I wasn’t too familiar with before being introduced to it but I have been SO impressed with it! This line of products uses Vitamin C and topical prescription products to keep the appearance of younger looking skin whilst also fighting any skin damage you may have. The formula of this product is so lovely and light, with creamy gel like consistency which glides onto the skin effortlessly. A little definitely goes a long way and the lightly scented lotion absorbs into the skin in seconds, leaving no residue on the skin but instantly your skin feels plump and smoother whilst delivering a lovely glow. It delivers on the hydration front for my normal – dry skin type and has helped my complexion become brighter and more even by lightening darker spots I have on my skin. I’d highly recommend looking into this product!

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

This is a product I was introduced to from beauty subscription boxes and is another liquid exfoliant. As a 2% liquid salicylic acid leave-on exfoliant, I opt for using this when I do get a breakout or two as it really helps reduce the redness of the spot whilst helping it disappear faster. Whilst this product can be used everyday, as I have normal – dry skin, I opt to use it about 2 – 3 times a week on weeks where I have a significant breakout as otherwise, it is a bit too strong for my skin but those with oily or combination skin should have no issues, I believe. Although it leaves a slight tacky and shiny residue, it’s not an issue when used at night and the next morning, the appearance of my spot is reduced whilst my skin’s texture is smooth.

Go-To Skincare Exfoliating Swipeys*

I’ll be reviewing more of the Go-To Skincare line soon but this product is definitely a new favorite. With only 9 natural ingredients, these facial pads are soaked in a lactic acid and essential oil blend to deliver on exfoliation and hydration. To be used 1 – 3 times a week, the fruity scented swipeys are very gentle on the textured side and once wiped all over the face, you then just need to rinse off the residue on the skin. Your face is left smooth and soft instantly and thanks to the essentials oils, it’s also received a hydration boost so your skin doesn’t feel dry or tight either. The next morning, I find my skin to feel even better than it did after the wipe and it does have a definite brighter appearance to it after regular use. This product makes exfoliation quick and easy and delivers results.

John Plunkett Glyco Peel

This is a product I’ve featured quite a few times on the blog and it has been a constant in my skincare routine for over a year. Depending on your skin type, the frequency of using this product differs but it is suitable for all skin types. It contains Glycolic Acid, Lactokine (Milk Protein) and Aloe Vera and is to be applied as a part of your nighttime skincare routine. It spreads over the skin easily and dries quite quickly so that you can move onto the next step of your skincare routine in just a few seconds. The next morning, your skin is left feeling so soft and smooth with a brighter and clear complexion whilst I’ve also found the appearance of my pores to be minimised!
