2 Weeks of Nails! Weekly Polish Picks - 27 April 2013

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig
I have been trying to get my nails in somewhat better shape the past two weeks, so I haven't been changing polishes too much. In fact, I haven't even been wearing polish too much. But, to keep with tradition, I will share what's been on my nails the past two weeks.

After at least half the week without any polish, I remembered I had picked up a new Butter London polish during Ulta's last huge one day Butter London deal. It's a shade I had seen many times before, but this time as I walked past the bottle, I noticed a pink flash. It caught my eye enough to make me turn around. The polish is called "Scouse" and I always thought it was just a blue glittery polish. Not my cup of tea. The pink flash was a stunning duo-chrome that I can't quite capture in photos, but it's beautiful! And the glitter is a very, very fine glitter that almost adds more dimension to the color, rather than an actual sparkly glitter extravaganza. The blue to pink duo-chrome is what sold me though! It's a beautiful shade and it's also not terrible to remove like many standard glitters.

Then I let my nails breathe a bit again before getting all fancy - for me at least - and doing a half-moon manicure. I used two of the shades from Zoya's limited edition collection for Zang Toi's Fall/Winter 2013 line. I started with a coat of a beautiful gold foil metallic called "Peterhof Palace" (this is "Ziv" from their regular line up) and let it dry...well, I thought it was dry. Then I put those little notebook paper hole reinforcement tabs at the bottom of my nails and added a coat of the limited shade from the set called "Imperial Russia." It's a beautiful deep jewel-toned purple. When I removed the stickers, I smudged the gold a bit, but I love the combination and have really enjoyed seeing this on my nails. Granted, it's not the best attempt at nail art, but it's the best I'm willing to aim for. I'm not spending hours painting my nails! :)

Surprisingly, those are the only colors I've had on my nails lately. I hope you enjoyed!
