Zulu Petals is a band that captivates from the moment you listen. With haunting melodies and lyrics, they add a certain beauty and sadness to indie rock. Their sound already is prone to sounding minimal, but with this spectacularly stripped down performance of the track “Safe Things”, they push both the song and the video to new heights. Meshing a living room recording of the track with images of the neighborhood in which the band was staying in Sweden, it moves the idea of a performance video to something completely new. Of course, as wonderful as the images are, you stay for the incredibly lovely music. The perfect, subtle and vulnerable sounds pair beautifully with the setting. Check out the video above.
