Mark Zuckerberg is putting a lot of attention on Instagram’s improved NFT support. He is also “pushing a little harder” on Meta workers who shouldn’t be there and launching the metaverse runway. When he announced more NFT support, the game’s founder and CEO said on Instagram that he would soon turn his 1992 Little League baseball card into an NFT.

This comes at a time when Meta is interested. Facebook, which is its main source of income, just announced that for the second quarter, it had its first-ever loss in revenue. Instagram is already in a mess. CEO Adam Mosseri told Casey Newton, “People are angry, and the usage numbers aren’t great.” Because of this, Instagram has stopped trying out features like those on TikTok.
Meta is finally getting into the niche market of “digital treasures,” which has dropped a lot since its winter peak. A tracker on Dune shows OpenSea sales numbers that show that, after dropping from May levels, sales have been pretty stable in the months since.
Newton said in a separate study for Platformer that Meta, Twitter, and Reddit are all working on NFT projects, but they don’t have any data on how well they are doing.
The only reason for this concentration is the belief that the value of these treasures would skyrocket when they were added to the augmented and virtual reality settings that Zuckerberg is trying to create. However, this has not happened.
Meta said today that the test of NFT support is now available in 100 more countries. This means that Coinbase Wallet, Dapper, and Flow blockchain NFTs can now connect to the test.
