Chinese telecom company Zong successfully tested 5G in Pakistan for the first time, according to a statement issued by the Zong telecom. Zong has become the first company to experience 5G, which will help deliver the fastest Internet service in the future.

Now Pakistan has become the first country in South Asia to have tested 5G light-speed network.

5G will bring a new digital revolution in Pakistan as the test has put Pakistan on the elite list of countries which have conducted the 5G test successfully.

According to the PTA, it will initially be launched on a non-commercial basis so that it can be tested before spreading across the country. 5G will be soon launched in Pakistan with a speed of 100 times faster than the 4G LTE.

5G will be 10x faster than existing broadband connections available in Pakistan. 5G home router’s speed has been recorded as four gigabytes per second with means that it can download 50gb of file in just 2 minutes.

The analysts say that the speed of the 5G network will depend on the spectrum available to the operator. In July, the PTA had requested applications for license issuance.

CEO and Chairman Zong, Liu Dianfeng said, “Our teams are working very hard not only to bring new technology to the Pakistani people but also the applications and end-to-end solutions to enhance the quality of life for the local people.

Now, everyone wishes to test 5G will be able to experience lightning-fast speeds of 5G. With the 5G enabled technology of the leaders of the digital revolution in Pakistan, businesses will be better equipped to work on IoT and integrate interoperable devices, manage fleets, and systems through cloud technology.

Whenever 5th Generation network is launched in Pakistan, Zong customers will be able to experience infinite possibilities, define the undefined, and explore technology like never before.

The PTA had requested applications from cellular companies to issue licenses on a trial basis in July last month, according to the PTA. The test framework for 5G has already been developed after reviewing the applications for Frequency Allocation. According to the PTA so far, 40 million people are using 3G and 4G services. Chinese technology company Huawei also wants to launch low-cost 5G service in South Asia, including Pakistan.
