Zebulon has quickly become one of our favorite places, even though it has now been "discovered," principally by our cousins from the East. We liked the specials of the day but chose items from the longer carte.
Our good Cantabrigian friend and Colette both had the green asparagus, ecrevisses and sabayon for starters and I had their superb quail, crosne and razor clams for mine.
Then they both had a second starter - the daurade confite with avocado with petals of something - very good, while I had the pigeon royal with a honey and cinnamon sauce with wonderful cabbage, all of which worked together to leave me very happy.
Then Colette had the pear with honey, our friend had the nutty praline and chocolate and I was implored to try the pineapple, pannacotta and crumble, which turned out to be the table's favorite.
Our bill with a bottle of Moulin a Vent, no bottled water but three coffees, was 165 or 106 E a couple for a meal that not only had no missed notes, it had high notes reached and held.
